How to download TikToks on iPhone (no app, no watermark)
Downloading TikToks on iPhone is easier than most people think. You do NOT need to install apps from the App Store, you do NOT need jailbreak, and you do NOT need to pay anything. Just Safari and TikSavr. In this guide I'll walk you through the full process.
Why not use an App Store app?
Search "download TikTok" on the App Store and you'll see dozens of apps. Most have serious issues:
- They charge a monthly subscription
- They flood your iPhone with full-screen ads
- They request permissions they don't need (contacts, location, photos)
- Apple removes them periodically, so you lose access
- Some are disguised scams
The TikSavr website runs in Safari, requires no install, asks for no extra permissions, and will always be available.
Step-by-step download
1. Copy the TikTok link
Open the video in the TikTok app. Tap Share (the arrow) and pick Copy link. If you're on Safari directly, copy the URL from the address bar.
2. Open TikSavr in Safari
Go to tiksavr.com in Safari. Paste the link in the main input and tap Search video.
3. Pick quality and download
The video thumbnail and quality options appear. Tap 1080p (or whichever quality) and then Download. Safari shows a download bar at the top.
4. Save the video to Photos
When the download finishes:
- Open the iOS Files app
- Tap Downloads
- Find the file (something like
tiksavr_video-title.mp4) - Tap it to open
- Tap the Share button (square with up arrow)
- Choose Save Video
Done. The TikTok is now in your Photos app. From there you can share, edit, or do whatever you want with it.
Shortcut: add to home screen
If you'll download TikToks often, I recommend adding TikSavr to your home screen as a "web app":
- Open tiksavr.com in Safari
- Tap Share
- Select Add to Home Screen
- Confirm the name and tap Add
Now you'll have a TikSavr icon on your home like any app. Opens straight without going through the browser.
How to save the audio (MP3) on iPhone
If you only want the audio instead of the video, pick the Audio MP3 option in TikSavr. The MP3 file saves to Files → Downloads.
To use it as a ringtone, you'll need GarageBand (free from Apple's App Store), which lets you convert the MP3 to M4R and set it as a ringtone.
Common problems and fixes
"I can't find the video in Files"
Make sure you're looking in Files → On My iPhone → Downloads. Sometimes Safari saves to iCloud Drive if you have it enabled. Go to Settings → Safari → Downloads to confirm the save location.
"The video won't play when I open it"
Restart the Files app. If it still won't play, the download likely cut off midway. Re-download from TikSavr.
"Safari says the file can't be downloaded"
On very old iOS versions (before iOS 13), Safari didn't support direct downloads. Update your iPhone to a modern iOS version.
